We're the ones your mother warned your about...No, seriously. We are.

'stina - No, my dog's hair is like that normally, thanks.

1. I'm terrified of snakes.

2. This is because I stepped on a copperhead when I was ten.

3. My siblings are three of my very best friends.

4. When we were little, my parents would take us to the ranch every weekend. We were forced to get along.

5. Relampago is much mellower as he gets older.

6. I cannot imagine my life without him.

7. I always have a feeling of expectation about the future. I'm not one who can just live in the now.

8. I have been known to play computer games for days at a time.

9. I really like my house, and I think that I could stay there for a long time.

10. If I get a big firm job, I think that I'll use the extra cash to pay off some of my mortgage sooner.

11. I have recently become terrified that I will not have children.

12. I am an 11th generation Texan.

13. My current job isn't as bad as my former job, but it could be significantly better.

14. I still haven't finished my masters thesis. I've been working on it for five years.

15. I think that it's a subconscious effort to be a perpetual student, because I enjoy school so much.

16. I would love to be able to split my time between Texas, New Mexico and California.

17. I really miss my sister Olivia, though I know she is much happier there than she would be here.

18. I don't watch as much TV as I used to. I use my TV more to watch DVDs than actual programming.

19. I just got TiVo, so maybe that will change.

20. I'm not sure being a lawyer is my life's calling, but I'll keep on doing it for awhile.

21. I wish I had the discipline to write more.

22. I graduated from college in only three years.

23. I graduated from law school in only two and a half AND I was working part time and working on another degree during the last year of that.

24. I have absolutely no idea where I got the energy and motivation to do 22 and 23.

25. The happiest I've ever been in my life was when I lived in California and when I lived in Oxford.

26. Yet somehow, I'm always drawn back to Texas.

27. My first year of law school was complete and total culture shock after coming back from Oxford.

28. My one real regret in life is that I didn't join the Peace Corps after I came back from Oxford.

29. I can't believe that this is only number 29.

30. My father is one of my role models. I think he probably has way too much of an influence on me.

31. I have never felt guilty about coming from a wealthy family. I consider it to be a circumstance of fate and that there is very little I could do about it.

32. I have had friends in the past that have been resentful of that.

33. I do recognize that I have been given opportunities that are not open to everyone because of the family I was born into.

34. My mother had to testify in court yesterday for my godparents split; I was relieved when I was removed from the witness list.

35. I wish that I had a better aptitude for science.

36. I was placed in upper level math when I was in eighth grade, and we had to teach ourselves algebra.

37. None of us got it right and when I started high-school, I was behind all of my peers.

38. To this day, I still struggle with math because of that.

39. My first language was Spanish. I didn't speak English until I was three.

40. I harbor a dream of moving to a Latin American country to perfect my Spanish.

41. Health care attorneys are not in a high demand in Latin American countries, so I'd have to figure out something else to do.

42. I used to have a fantasy of taking off nine months with Relampago and hiking the Appalachian Trail. Relampago is too old to do it now.

43. I am getting a puppy before this year is over.

44. I recognize that I am doing this in order to soften the blow for when Relampago leaves me, but I also recognize that he is in more than perfect health and it may not be for several years.

45. I haven't looked at my list of fifty things to do before death in about five years, but I think it needs serious revision.

46. I am hoping to finish the screenplay that I've been working on by the end of the summer. I had a major breakthrough last night.

47. My main hope in the next Presidential election is that Bush is removed from office, and I fear that Howard Dean will move the democrats too far to the left to be able to beat Bush.

48. This means I may end up supporting someone who I don't like as much, but who has a better chance of winning the middle.

49. This does not bother me too much because I've been a Democrat in Texas for way too long.

50. I'm halfway there and I have no idea what I'm going to talk about next.

51. I can't imagine what my life would be like without the internet.

52. Most of my friends come from the internet.

53. I probably have carpal tunnel syndrome.

54. I didn't ever learn to play the GPA game. I always took the hardest courses, sometimes to my detriment.

55. I am thoroughly convinced that too many lawyers exist in the world because too many people who aren't entirely sure what they want to do end up going to law school.

56. I went to law school because I failed organic chemistry and knew I couldn't go to med school.

57. Of all the education I've had, I liked law school the least.

58. I have been a mentor to a bronzer who is now in law school; I feel like I failed him when he didn't like it.

59. I used to identify myself by my job or my status as a student.

60. Now I try to divorce myself from my job when I'm not there.

61. When I left my last job I felt like I left an abusive relationship.

62. When I leave this job I think I will feel like I left an abandoned relationship.

63. I'm greedy enough that the lure of more money may entice me to go to another job.

64. Sometimes I'm convinced that I'll never find someone to spend my life with.

65. Then I get upset that it matters to me so much.

66. I find it interesting that none of my siblings have found life partners either.

67. I think it is because my parents set such a high standard for us to aspire to.

68. My mom is one of my best friends.

69. The entire family socializes together. When we go out separately, people will always ask us where the others are.

70. I met my best friend over the summer that we were both five.

71. That means that this summer is our silver anniversary.

72. She's getting married in October, and I am overwhelmingly relieved that I like her fiance.

73. I didn't like her previous boyfriends, but I never told her.

74. I've probably been legitimately in love twice.

75. Neither time did a real relationship develop.

76. If either one of those guys called me tomorrow, I'd be on a plane in a heartbeat.

77. I don't think either one of them knows that.

78. I don't think I was in love with my long-term boyfriend, but I liked being in a relationship.

79. I'm pretty sure he knows that.

80. I've slept with people whose names I do not recall.

81. I do not feel bad about that.

82. I think, though, that I've probably moved beyond the random one night stand.

83. I like my hair, though I'm beginning to see grey in it.

84. I have not decided if I am going to alter my hair color because of the grey.

85. I have, however, used some sun-in to lighten it a bit.

86. My desk is a total mess.

87. Whenever I try to clean it, it reverts to mess within a week.

88. I still try to pretend that it is clean.

89. I wish I had an assistant to help me keep track of everything.

90. I am a lapsed catholic.

91. I have not gone to mass regularly since I left catholic school when I was fourteen.

92. I like the ritual and paganism of the Catholic Church, though I cannot stand some of the stances.

93. I could not imagine being any other denomination of Christianity though.

94. I enjoy reading a great deal, but I don't do enough of it.

95. I have a whole bookshelf of books that I have bought but not yet read.

96. I still buy more books even if I haven't read the ones I have.

97. I love to cook, but I don't do it very often.

98. I usually pick something up on the way home.

99. I want to redo my kitchen, but it is three home improvement projects back.

100. This list took me pretty much all day to write, and I'm sure that I put stupid stuff on it that I'll later want to replace with more legitimate stuff.
